Reporting DNA Results for Tampering Cases (Sample Swab/Substitution)

The DNA method tickbox is available to indicate when a DNA test is applied in tampering cases, such as sample swab or substitution. In some cases, the DNA test may be the only test used in a tampering investigation.

In the "Analysis/Details/Explanation" field, the Laboratory should include the statement: "A DNA test was conducted on the sample in support of a tampering investigation. The DNA test report is available in the Laboratory." The DNA report can also be securely sent to the relevant TA/RMA upon request.

If requested by the TA/RMA, the Laboratory Documentation Package for the relevant sample must include the DNA test report.
